Joshua L. Martin- CEO/ FOUNDER
The Pipeline to Success was started by Joshua Martin, who is a local Houston Independent School District Teacher. Martin grew up up here in Houston, Texas, where he also attended the Houston Independent School District. When Martin was in the 6th grade, he had a life changing situation. His 6th grade teacher stated, “ You will be nothing in life but flipping hamburgers”. This statement upset Martin, being that he was a young African American male and he knew that his walk of life wasn’t going to be easy. But, Martin did not let that stop him. He decided to take such negative comment and turn it around to support and guide young students to push for their goals in life, no matter what anyone tells them. Martin continued to gain a Bachelors of Science Degree in Health Science and Bachelors of Arts in Business from the University of Houston- Main. He then continued to gain a Masters of Since in Educational Leadership from the University of Houston- Clear Lake. He has been awarded Texas Teacher of the Year, Houston Sweepstakes Teacher of the Year, Rack Room- National Teacher of the Year, Frost Elementary Teacher of the Year and Houston ISD - South Area Teacher of the Year.
